eFoods
Essential Foods (eFoods) is a NZ distributor & supplier for ReadyWise food products. It is a leading USA manufacturer of freeze-dried meals, and snacking food solutions for survival and emergencies.
Our company eFoods has indeed come a long way from a simple conversation between friends. The genesis of eFoods had its beginnings in 2011 when American businessman Terry Pitts talked to Moses Armstrong about emergency freeze dried food products with a 25-year shelf life.
Terry encouraged Moses to visit the American manufacturing plant, ReadyWise, in Utah. Through negotiation Moses acquired the rights to sell the product within the Pacific region. Moses then founded eFoods in New Zealand in 2011. At this time he then brought in long time trusted friend Robert Belbin, whose expertise is in marketing and website development.
In 2012 an Australian subsidiary was also created. Ricky Tukukino, a family member based in Melbourne, was brought on to manage the Australian market. This enabled the products and business to be managed locally.
As eFoods continued to grow, Moses brought on board his son Joel Armstrong to help further develop and manage the business. Our business has significantly grown as New Zealand’s and Australia’s premier supplier of high quality emergency preparedness food.

The New Zealand Civil Defence and the Australian Red Cross both recommend that every family needs to prepare survival items for the whole household, including pets, and an emergency kit for at least three days, in the event of an evacuation. This should include water, meals and snacks, some of which are high-energy foods with a long shelf life.
